It is very woeful news to share even, thousands of people are trapped in the flood and countless have been lost their lives. People have lost their night’s sleep and living under the threat. According to reporters,”as far as eye goes there are thousands of dead bodies lying here and there”. People are spending their day without food and water in the valley. 90 guest houses have been destroyed near the “Kedarnath Temple”. Buildings, temples, and vehicles collapsed; many people have been rescued by I.T.B.P, their rescue operation is at full swing. Many survivors rescued from Badrinath and Gaurikund. Bridges have been washed out in Uttarakashi. Approximately, 70 houses are destroyed in the region. Few minister and famous celebrities were also trapped in the flood that has been saved.
Cause of Flood: Heavy flood arouse in Ganga, Mandakani, Alaknanda, Bhagirathi rivers due to cloudburst in the region of Kedarnath. The cloudburst in the region gave birth to this disaster and affected many villages and small towns of Chamoli district. This all disaster is done by the Himalayan Tsunami. Apart from this disaster, people had to face heavy rain and landslides in many regions of the Uttarkhand.
Affected Villages and Town: Kedarnath, Uttarakashi, Shrinagar, Hemkund, Joshimath, Gaurikund, Haridwar, Ghansali are the few villages that have been caught under the storm and flood. This horrible disaster caused thousands of death and loss of houses. 15000 people have been sent to Joshimath camps that have been trapped in Hemkund Shahib.
Rescue Work: Rescue work is at full swing, being run by the center government and the state government. 10,000 troops are deployed by the government to help the trapped people. Medicines and food have been supplied by the helicopters yet the army has to face lots of difficulties due to geographical factors of the area. 20 helicopters of state government and center government are engaged on their work of rescue.
I.T.BP Work: 1000 I.T.B.P soldiers working hard to save thousands of lives. According to pilgrims, and tourists, “the army have rescued them and made them moved to josh math camps”.
